Mystic Storm 0 Posted October 10, 2003 I've only had my Corrado a week (VR6 Storm) and don't know that much about them as yet, although I'm getting there. I noticed when I had a test drive that the throttle was stiff i.e. difficult to push down the juice pedal. The guy told me that it had a damper on it for smoother driving? Anyway, is the a common VR6/Corrado trait or is it just the cable needs looked at/replaced? I'm kind of used to it now but anyone who's driven her finds it difficult to get to grips with. Any help/comments appreciated. Cheers Jay
VR6 0 Posted October 10, 2003 Just replace the cable - more than likely the cause of the problem and a nice easy/cheap fix.
smudge 0 Posted October 12, 2003 Hi, Just bought a Storm myself and find the throttle sticky too. Garage looked at cable and said it didn't need replaced. They said it may just be that way!! I am happy to drive it just now but am planning a service at the VW place in glenrothes in a few months and thought I would find out then. Maybe call them, they are called star performance. G60 0 Posted October 12, 2003 listen carefully:  those of you with sticky/stiff throttle response... it IS the cable. its a $30 cdn part (over here anyway) and makes the throttle feel like butter. very easy to swap out, cheap part.. makes the car feel completely different. do it!! don't wd40 it or anything daft. replace it. then go for a drive. then come on here and post about how well it worked. trust me. :thumb right:

Mystic Storm 0 Posted October 20, 2003 Cheers for the excellent advice. It's like driving a whole new car with the new cable! Was cheap as well, only £22.
