help slightly odd charged vr engine noise

mine suddenly sounds like a classic supercharger now (before it just whistled a bit) its not a knackered p[ower steering pump kind of noise it sounds just like a buzzy noise exactly like id expect a supercharger to sound BUT its deffo never made that noise before

any ideas? could the water pump bearings suddenly go noisy the belt is pretty tight

could be the tensioner if the bearing is still original - easy enough to slacken and check - you just need an M8x80

Oh sorry - didn't read it properly...

 

Could be belt tension, make, or as you say waterpump or alt - maybe best to take it off and check the bearings etc, worth swapping belts reguarly on charged VR's anyways
