nolan 0 Posted January 15, 2007 Hi, Can anyone please confirm that a Momo Boss (8014) comes complete with slip ring assembly to enable the horn to work correctly :help: For example please find photo of a boss (unknown make, image from ebay) with a slip ring assembly to make contact with the horn (+12v) copper swiper as fitted on the steering column: I have recently purchased a second-hand Momo Runner Steering Wheel 8) which came complete with boss supposedly for a Corrado VR6 :? Although the spline is ok there is no way to connect the horn up correctly  Is this a common problem :?: Many Thanks Nolan
nolan 0 Posted January 15, 2007 I forgot to add the photo of the momo runner with boss (as supplied) fitted. As can be seen no copper slip ring assembly :(
2_Door_fun 0 Posted January 15, 2007 Hi I fitted a Momo yesterday. It was not new. I swapped it fr a pint. It came of a derilict builders escort van. Used my old Boss to fit it. The horn button had a 1 spade connector and a weird brass curved ?? bit . Also came with two tin discs. Are these slip rings? using 1 was handy to actually mount the horn button. What are they actually for. Feel a bit huh sayin it. I mounted the horn wires by just passing a bare cable through a small hole it seemed to be griped by the curved rod. Works well though. nolan 0 Posted January 16, 2007 The horn works by making the steering column (ground) in contact with the +12v supply (via the copper spring strip fitted on the steering column). I have looked up the standard vr6 steering wheel in ETKA (Please see attached .pdf file) Item 2 (Part Number 1H0 419 660) is a return ring (indicator cancel) with slip ring (for +12v to horn). Do you have to remove this part from the vw steering wheel and fit within the momo boss  If I order a brand new momo boss (8014) does it come complete with the slip ring and indicator cancel :?: Any advice gratefully received 8)
2_Door_fun 0 Posted January 17, 2007 Your setup looks no different to mine. I just past the horn wire up through the boss and attached the spade to the horn. Then drilled my boss fitted a self tapper and ring connector to a length of wire n Bobs yr uncle. See here Although not a Corrado same idea as me n others I guess

RS VR6 0 Posted January 26, 2007 Make sure you use a bit of lube on the ring.
nolan 0 Posted January 26, 2007 Make sure you use a bit of lube on the ring. That sounds a tad rude :shocked!: However sound advice
