Recommended Posts

Just wondering what the VR6 should be idling at, mine seems quite low at around the 500 mark???

Also she seems to be goin through oil, was wondering what I should put in it, eg semi/full synthetic etc.

Also the interior roof really needa a good clean anyone recom any good cleaning products to bring it back up to clean again?

After your guidance you knowlegable people, (I have only just got the VR6).

Cheers

Steve

650 rpm is around the right mark, but they do fluctuate a little.

Personally I'd go semi-synth.

'Interior Valet'- think it's by CarPlan or something similar is great- my headlining looked like new after using it. It comes with a plastic brush thing attached. Can get it from Halfords etc.

VW's own quantum silver semi-synthetic is top oil for the money - think about £15 from dealer but you can get it cheaper if you shop around.

mine must idle high mine is at 800rpm hot and 1000 when cold i was told by a garage to check the spark plugs for oil could be leaking in not likely on a car with low mileage but if its over 120,000 could be something like that saying that i was loosing oil cus a no-return valve on a breather hose broke
