5k flat spot....hall sender??

beavis tells me my 5k flat spot could be related to a dodgy hall sender,before i order a new un can anyone give more info?...i cant afford to buy something i dont need

 

while im here..wheres the best/cheepest place to buy??and should look for a hall sender or new dist

my hall sender has gone, have a look at the plug under the distributar it should be tight to the body, if its loose it is probably shorting, mines loose i cable tied mine to make sure it was this as i was getting info all the day, about things to check this made it start fine but once it got hot the engine cut out, i also had slight traces of oil in distributar.

 

You can replace the sender itself but u need to stip down all of the distributar, i've just gone and bought a new one to save time
