jonny-5 0 Posted January 29, 2007 I'll be like mine i guess, with electric everything else except windows?! For the elecrtics i found this page on clubgti, it makes things very easy indeed - you can even use the feeds for the electric mirrors to make it even easier! The hardest part is unattaching the mechanism from the door as rivets are used so it requires a spot of drilling.
davidwort 0 Posted January 29, 2007 many early 16v's (and a lot of passats of the same era) have dealer fitted windows which are just permanently live and don't use a control box, much easier than retro fitting all the looms needed for the factory setup. The switches are visually OEM VW but have an extra feed to each of them, try hunting down passats in a scrappy, if they have switches that have soldered wires straight to the backs and not plug in cable connectors they're the ones you want, it won't give you one touch opening or closing though. the delta force 0 Posted September 20, 2007 I've got the same on my 1.8 16v. I just purchased and fitted a full leather interior incl. door cards. I now want to go from manual to electric windows so I can fit the leather door cards. Did any of you change yours? What was the cost etc. I have looked at the link from clubgti and will keep searching tonight for more info. Any help appreciated. Stefan
