minkeya 0 Posted February 2, 2007 Hello agin fellas- Would it be prefferable to fit a Mk3 golf 2.0 16v (abf) engine to my 1.8 16v nugget or should I stick to the 9a. There seems to be more abf's about and don't they give more break anyway? Cheers.
skinnyman9000 0 Posted February 2, 2007 I'm not 100% but i did hear that the abf block is taller than the 9a block, and so will struggle to fit into a C due to the slopping bonnet
minkeya 0 Posted February 2, 2007 I will have to research more! Maybe it's the bottom end that is swopped over!
flusted 0 Posted February 2, 2007 the abf block is approx 18mm taller so causes downpipe issues and also it uses a different injection system. This can be converted to run the 1.8 injection though Use the 9a from passat or corrado as this is a straight swap
