how to change a manifold on the g60?

I have got my G-works manifold on its way and looking to change it over this weekend!

it is on a corrado g60

How easy is it to do?

Can i do it without removing the inlet manifold? or is it best to just remove it?

and will i be able to remove all the studs from the top of the car as it will be on my drive.

Hi mate,

 

Its a bit of a fiddle but can be done, i didnt actually fit my manifold on my car, G-werks did that as i just didnt have time..

 

Anyway afaik the inlet needs to come off and the front engine mount needs to be removed so the engine can fall forward so the manifold will slot in. There maybe a few other things to do but cant remember.

 

Can be done on your drive tho.. may need to jack the car up tho. 8)

ok nice one just gives me a bit of an idea of what i need to do instead of struggling.

i knew it was gonna be a pain to do but im on a bit of a tight budget as im buying a house.

Did you notice any difference after your manifold was changed? i take it you have a G-works one?

yeah it gained about 10 hp over standard...

 

was 242 before the manifold, after it was 251 :) that was on the same rollers and the temperature was slightly warmer aswell the second time around.... 8)

Thats good then! only changing it as the standard one is cracked.

Recon i might have to upgrade the front engine mount as i have been told the stanless ones crack more easly with movement.

but hopefully my mate is gonna machine one up for me :D

real tight fit on the car.

as they manifold is made of bigger pipe work, the nuts for the manifold are a pain to fit on.

it can be done as i done it myself, but it took a fair while.

take off the inlet manifold, put on your swearing hat and whack away Jim!

nice bit of kit, much easier to let someone else fit it!!!

manifold came in the post today and im well pleased with it. but i have now decided im gonna get my mate to fit it who is a mechanic.

cant be bothered with the headache of fitting it :mad:
