G60-NeedMoorePoower 0 Posted February 7, 2007 Hi all Its good to be here. My first VW and have been an Rx-7 and Vauxhall fan. I am from london working in the not so great netherlands... I read on forums here and there -descriptions of where the CentraL locking motor is located :- 1. ...drivers side rear door ....Or 2. ...under the carpet....Or 3. actually in the boot lid/trunk (lid ??)....OR I understand these terms to be interchangable : boot, trunk, tailgate... I don't consider the rear door to actually be the boot (or trunk), and since the corrado is a coupe there are no rear doors ! (although we would call the Corrado a 2/3 door...) In the boot inside lid there is no central locking motor that I can see ; there are the tail light fittings and bulbs, the rear spoiler motor etc etc.. This Corrado G60 of mine is LHD, unlike my other Uk cars which are RHD. So perhaps this description of "rear drivers side....blah blah" depends on whether this is LHD or RHD..(right ?) ? Since getting an english manual in the netherlands is nearly impossible, most dutch have managed to get ones in german ; I have the ETKA but can't run the bloody CD since my TFT doesn't support the resolution required 1280x1024....etc If someone had a foto to post with a crudely drawn arrow on it -this is where the motor is hiding, this would be most helpfully and won't require these vague/ambiguous attempts at describing rear, front, left, right....f**k it.... Thanks in advance.
G60-NeedMoorePoower 0 Posted February 7, 2007 Ah yes -another question - THE FUSE FOR THE CENTRAL LOCKING ??!! I also read - fuse 18, near 31,,,,fuse 21......... So which is it ?? btw -this conflicting info is from a no of forums not just here, as I am searching around to determine exactly which fuse this is... Thanks
vr6storm 0 Posted February 7, 2007 its on the o/s/r area underneath the side carpet trims of the boot, basically its the same side as the fuel filler flap,it will be in an insulated box(black foam sort of material)
leon263 0 Posted February 8, 2007 I've had exactly the same problem on my Corrado so hopefully I can help. As already stated, the central locking pump is behing the carpet in the boot. On my rt.hand drive car it was behind the carpet on the rt.hand side but it may be on the left on a lt.hand drive car. As for the fuse, remove the fuse box cover and you will not see the fuse in question. There are three more fuses which sit above the fuse box out of sight and to access them it is necessary to remove the plastic part of the dash which sit directly above the fuse box cover (3 screws from memory) When you have removed this plastic cover you will see the three fuses. Check the fuse first and if it is blown, replace it and you can forget about the motor in the boot. I can't remember which fuse it is so check all three. If they are all intact then the problem could be with the pump. At least you now know where to find it

At least you now know where to find it ok, i did find a grouping of 4 or 5 fuses this side (steering wheel side) of the main fuse box; they were all ok...i tried to look behind the fuse box (opposite end, firewall side) couldnt see any, suppose will have to unscrew the mounting and cover to get to what you describe..... ok thanks
G60-NeedMoorePoower 0 Posted February 8, 2007 its on the o/s/r area underneath the side carpet trims of the boot, basically its the same side as the fuel filler flap,it will be in an insulated box(black foam sort of material) GOT IT ! under the foam/spongy box...right its kinda sitting on the wheel arch a few inches from the inside of the fuel cap.... So its the same as RHD Corrado's then I can smell something has burnt out, so will pick 1 up cheap hopefully. Cheers mate
G60-NeedMoorePoower 0 Posted February 8, 2007 I did the blow into the plastic tube -with a bit of force all the doors lock and unlock, so this confirms it has to be the central locking motor, including the burnt smell....so....
