ISV Cleaning

Recommended Posts

I romoved the ISV from the C last night to give it a bit of a cleaning. :) I bought some 'Wynns' carburetor & injector cleaner (£4.50) & 2 dupliclips (16-20mm) to do the job. When I started cleaning the ISV I thought there was a sponge air filter in it  Turns out that the sponge must have come from my 'Pipervross' air filter. I think the filter is the problem as it had also clogged-up my throttle body when I cleaned it a few weeks ago.

It leaves a sticky mess & frankly will fcuk-up the breathing of the engine. As a result of seeing this I will be removing my 'performance filter' & throwing it in the bin very shortly. When you consider the prices of throttle bodys & ISV's etc., its just not worth it for a little bit of noise.

Just out of interest, does anyone know if a good induction kit i.e. BMC, K&N etc. would create similar or greater problems?
