storm_warning 0 Posted February 23, 2007 I've used Andi's white dials as a base to start from and modified them to look how I would like the dials in my car (pictures to follow). Now I need some help... I want to back light these and I guess I am going to have to use EL paper to do the trick, but I've never used that before and info on the net hasn't been able to answer my questions. Does anyone know if I'll need a seperate inverter for each dial, or can one inverter feed all three? Also, can the paper be cut just about any which way without losing it's luminecient properties? I'll have to cut holes in it for the LCD screens, the needles and the reset stalk. One last question, probably to the DDI guys themselves, really - where can I get hold of some EL paper at a decent price?!! Most places I've found so far want extortinate money for the stuff, whilst EL wire is way way cheaper.
KADVR6 0 Posted February 23, 2007 hi mate, for some reason EL sheets in this country are very expensive?? try this company in the states though, its who the guys on vwvortex use. there is also some usefull info about wiring it all up etc etc, http://world-electroluminescent.com/index.html and yeh you will only need one invertor for the whole lot. hope this helps karl
