Diggler 0 Posted March 6, 2007 This is probably a really stoopid question, but being new to the world of the 'rado i'm a bit confused. I've just noticed a bit of water in the passenger footwell, theres no rust under the car so it's not from puddles, and the heater matrix hoses have just been changed so I doubt it's that. Nothing seems to be leaking under the bonnet so just what the deuce is it? Im reluctant to take it into the garage again cos last time i had to pimp my own mother out to pay the bill! gerhard 0 Posted March 6, 2007 Just under the windscreen by the ECU there is the air intake where the pollen filter would be in a modern car, check the base of it, you may need to silicon the seal, or theres a build up of leaves in the runoff for rain water, a common prob with the rado! hope this helps! CazzaVR 0 Posted March 6, 2007 Also worth checking the door membrane.
jonnyboyo 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Welcome to the forum buddy. Your not alone with damp there. It seems that at some point all Rados seem to suffer from it. Another common cause are the sunroof drain tubes located at all 4 corners of the sunroof when its slid back. Assuming yours will slide as this is yet another common Corrado prob!!! With the roof slid right back, get yourself a bike cable or guitar string and shove it down the tubes to get rid of any cack that may be causing a blockage. Good luck! :)
Ralphead 0 Posted March 12, 2007 If it is the dash fan vent letting water in then don't use si;icone to seal it, it rusts steel (and smells savage). Gripfill is the stuff but don't use too much 'cos else it gets everywhere.
Diggler 0 Posted June 7, 2007 nice one guys, cheers for the advice! i didnt think my question posted so i never checked the answers - what a tit! it hasnt happened again since, i took you guyses advice but still couldnt isolate the problem. when it happened before it was in heavy rain, but i cant find a leak anywhere - weird! i guess its just one of those random problems i will grow to love about the 'rado. vr6storm 0 Posted June 7, 2007 if its from the scuttle area "usual suspect",it'll be more noticable if you park facing up an incline too,was it just the matrix hoses that were changed? if so it could be the matrix itself, tho you should notice the windscreen always misting up as well as there being a sickly sweet smell inside the cabin not too mention the carpets being sticky
Jay2 0 Posted June 11, 2007 I've suddenly discovered this problem with the drivers footwell. Washed the car a few times over the weekend and lifted the drivers foot mat up to discover the carpets wet. Will work through the suggestions on the post. Cheers.
