Tarnished Alloys

Recommended Posts

I'm new to the forum but have had my 93 16v 2.0L Corrado for almost 2 years now but have noticed that the alloys are starting to tarnish. The alloys are standard but was wondering whether this is a common problem. It's getting worse and spreading. Other than buying a new set of alloys can I get this sorted? Thanks

Better put this in the problems section before the mod squad gets ya mate.
Sorry for my stupidity but how do I do that?

Hi mate & welcome to the site..

If the rims are the diamond cut rims, then yes they will begin to corrode, its the salt & chips which makes them go after a while, your probably looking at about £150 to get them all looking mint again, but once an alloy starts to corode theirs no real way of stoping it.. hope this helps..

best bet would be ask around local garages etc see if anyone can put you in touch with any wheel refurbers...

Do I keep with the originals and spend £150 on refurbishment or do I fork out for a new set? Decisions, decisions?!? Thanks anyway
