G60 Front Engine Mount replacement

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just searched on the above but not found much info, I am looking to replace my front mount this weekend with

a standard VAG one, as I did find pics of Joe and Riley's torn brackets caused by solid front mounts!

Can anyone confirm that I can reach/remove the front mount by: removing the: rad cover, top rad hose,

Boost hose from standard silencer, and rad fan (+ cowling)?

It does look possible but I don’t want to get halfway through to discover that you need to take the bumper/slam

Panel off of something equally silly! Am not expecting it to be easy (come on it NEVER is on the C!)

but would like to be as prepared as possible so I need to order 2 mounting bolts and the front mount, anything

think of anything else that should be changed? Or things that I will need to be aware of\careful of?

Cheers

Dan

changed mine with just the rad fan cowling off...no need for rad hoses off

make sure you have a trolley jack to support the engine

Same. The bolts on the mount were well and truly seized though :?

Cheers Guys :-)

Just wanted to double check that was the way to go!

Bolts shouldnt be that bad as the mount was only replaced less than a year ago!

Bloody cheap pattern parts, VAG all the way this time!! :(

Cheers

Speak to Darren at G-Werks - he does a much better uprated one than the standard one. I've been using it for quite sometime now and no issues. And if anyone in a G60 is going to have issues with engine mounts it's me!!!!

Not sure about fitting them but i have a vibratecnic competition on mine with no probs and its not a solid mount.

They do a road version thats not that much different to the original just slihtly uprated which could be another option.
