Reversing Lights Stopped Working?

Hello,

 

Suddenly noticed that my reversing lights have stopped working on the C, checked the bulbs & got power to the cluster & everything works ok.

 

So next suspicion is that the connector to the gearstick has come off or is lose.

 

Is the connection to the gearstick underneath the car? Tried the Bentley's, but it isn't clear where the connection is.

 

Any help appreciated. :?

The switch for the reverse lights is ontop of the shifter gables on the gearbox (on valvers, anyway). Small black box, about the size of a golfball with a two pin plug attached to it.

 

There are two bolts to remove it, and the internals are very basic when you see them, so should be easy enough to check what is going wrong! Or just get someone else with a multimeter to check there is resistance across the two pins in the plug as you put it into reverse.
