M.P.H. 0 Posted June 17, 2007 Have just sold my other car which has a private plate, the lady I have sold it to also has a plate she wants to put on the car. What is the simplest way to do this? Don’t want to have to send the log book off to get original reg put on, then again for change of owner and again for her plate. Anyone been in a similar situation? vr6storm 0 Posted June 17, 2007 I had a similar thing when buying my 993...........although I was friendly with the guy selling it so that helped a lot,I basically put his plate on to retention and put my plate on,all within a day or two...........you just go to your local DVLA office with all the relevent docs and fee.........if you can trust the buyer to put it on retention and then sign it over to you when the new docs come through thats probably the easiest,otherwise you'll have to do it the long-winded way,best thing to do is speak to your local DVLA office as I'm sure this happens a lot Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
