joebloggsVR69 0 Posted June 25, 2007 Does anyone know of any other insurance companies that offer agreed valuation policies? I've only come up with four, so far: - Adrian Flux - Chris Knott - HIC - Greenlight Cheers :)

scarlet_vr6 0 Posted June 25, 2007 Brentacre is a one ive heard good things about and will be trying... ...and Brentacre def do agreed valuations. Ask for John (01792 650933) - I got a great quote in April which nearly halved what Tesco wanted in renewal........
Alexander 0 Posted October 28, 2008 Interesting, I was speaking to Gary at Brentacre today and he told me they very rarely do agreed valuations - pretty much only for concourse/magazine cover cars. He said that the whole "agreed value" thing is often not worth the paper it's written on (I am paraphrasing), which I thought was interesting. Has anyone with an "agreed value" on their policy ever had their car written off and got the full agreed value back (less excess)?

Has anyone with an "agreed value" on their policy ever had their car written off and got the full agreed value back (less excess)? Well that sounds like a load of cobblers :D I've called Brentacre a couple of times, only for him to tell me I've overvalued my car... I've got an agreed valuation policy with Flux, it only costs about £25 I think. I know how much I've spent on my car, so if I had a big accident which was my fault, I'd be might pi$$ed off if my insurer offered me the 'book' rate. An agreed valuation means you'll get exactly what it's been agreed for, in the event you need to make a claim. One annoying thing is if a third party drives into you, your agreed valuation is useless, as it's the 3rd party insurers that are paying out, and they will value it at the 'book' rate. Still, for the sake of £25 I know I'd rather get a valuation in writing :)
Alexander 0 Posted October 28, 2008 One thing Brentacre said to me, which I thought was great, was that while they don't tend to offer agreed valuation policies, they do actively pursue the stated value of the car through the insurance company the policy is with - eg, providing ebay/forum/autotrader links to similarly modded cars to show the actual street value rather than just the parkers etc. Again, I have no idea who to believe, Brentacre, or Flux who offered me an agreed valuation policy, albeit for about £50 more than the Brentacre quote. Would be interested to hear some more experiences of people who've had to actually claim on an agreed value policy?
A1 VR6 0 Posted October 29, 2008 Try these http://www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk/ I have an agreed value limited mileage policy with them. They are actually specialist classic car insurers rather than standard companies that offer agreed value policies and they cover the Corrado under "future classic", - cheap too :D
Jim 2 Posted October 29, 2008 HIC do agreed valuations for about £18 on top of your standard policy. I keep meaning to do one for mine as I'm insured with them!
Alexander 0 Posted October 29, 2008 Yes I've spoken to HIC, but if the agreed value isn't honoured it's a waste of time/money, Brentacre's policy is better all-round (lower excess, etc) and it's really only the agreed value aspect they lack, that would make me go to another company.
