AWESOME SERVICE AT AWESOME.

Recommended Posts

Managed to aquaplane my way up north to Awsome in Irlam, Manchester, for a 20,000 mile service today. While it was there they also changed the coolant and brake fluid, flushed the engine and replaced the wiper blades for the trip home in monsoon like conditions.

Top job, the car felt alot better on the way home plus it made me feel more confident about the engine as the last service that the previous owner had was done by a mobile mechanic. :o

Crazy realy because it had full vag history up until then but there you go.

Thank you Awsome. :D

Now to sort out the body work.........

I'll second that, mine had a full service and 4 wheel alignment done there two weeks ago, top blokes, the mechanic even asked me if the sunroof worked before he greased it (it does, although I never use it) as he knew some rados scratched the sunroof panel if they have dodgy mechs.

How many miles has your engine done Badger? I asked about the engine flush but the chap at awesome said he wouldn't recommend it on engines with over 45K miles (at least I think it was 45K, might have been 75K)

I'd also recommend Opie Oils for delivering some Silkolene Pro S 5w-40 very promptly, very impressed with it so far, previously the tappets were slightly noisy for a few minutes after a cold start, even after fresh Quantum Silver, not any more!

Also Venom motorsport for opening a new box of coilies and selling me a single front to replace my leaking one.

How many miles has your engine done Badger?

It's a VR6 and it's done 51500k.

Strange thing happened on the way to work this morning. As i turned into a tight right hand bend the engine just died!

Now i've had this car since March and i always take the same route to work and it has never done that before and to be honest it was a bit of a shock.

I turned everything off, lights, radio etc and turned the key and it started first time. Just got home in it and it never missed a beat.

Very odd, hopefully it was nothing serious and maybe somthing to do with the rain.

Bager - check the battery terminals are tight...

The engine will keep going if one of the battery terminals pops off, it just won't start again.

At least that's what mine did when I didn't tighten the connector enough
