vr6storm 0 Posted July 10, 2007 anyone know if a mk2 Steering wheel is compatible with my 95 Storm??
yalan 0 Posted July 10, 2007 Mk II has a small spline on the steering shaft - late corrado will have a large spline. Corrado does use a 'spline adaptor' taking it from a small to a large spline, but even if you remove this adaptor I don't think the horn contacts nor the indicator cancelling lug would be in the right place. HTH but I'm sure someone somewhere will have tried it...
Supercharged 2 Posted July 10, 2007 Late MK2's also used the adapter so will be a straight fit...
davidwort 0 Posted July 10, 2007 I've had a corrado wheel on a mk3 polo (same adapter as corrado column) and then fitted an early mk2 golf wheel to the same polo, so I see no reason why the early wheel wouldn't fit the corrado column and work correctly with horn etc, apart from the dreaded removal of the adapter ring, you need a puller for this really. On the polo everything was sprung loaded against the adapter so you had to push the early wheel on to compress the column springs back, fiddle but easy enough. vdubs4life 0 Posted June 11, 2008 I wanted to swap the original steering wheel on my Raddo for a momo wheel, so I have just taken off the old wheel and then the larger splined shaft off the end of the column. And somehow I seem to have pushed the column inwards about an inch, and I can't pull it out again...? :( Any idea's on how I can rectify this..? Big thanks in advance.
