corrado 2.016v 1994 m reg cuts out/ non start. help !!

right bit of a mystry the other week the car would not start so changed the plugs. cap and rotor also the coil so it started went down the road it cut out and wouldnt start again. so checked no spark put another coil on it and it started.

since then it is still intermitant in starting seems like no spark even tried a new ignition switch,

today whilst driving it started to cut in and out managed to get home.

i have a feeling it might be a distributor fault can anyone help has anyone experienced this symptom
