GazzaG60 0 Posted February 24, 2003 the bolts on the front shocks (2 on each side) are a killer like you said. like i posted, i cut them off basically. they use stuff to destroy the end of the thread so it wont come off. i cut the bolt bout 5mm from the edge of nut. it then wound off ok. PhilsLadyC 0 Posted February 25, 2003 I've not even considered the fronts yet but I'll probably sort out some bolts for those as well. One step at a time!
2cc 0 Posted February 25, 2003 Phil, I changed the rear shocks on mine recently. The shock bottom fixing (on mine anyway) has a captive nut - i.e. its fixed on the trailing arm and the bolt just (ha ha) unscrews out of it. Give everything a good dose of wd40 & let soak in first. Supporting the trailing arm to take any weight of the bolt helps as well.
PhilsLadyC 0 Posted February 26, 2003 Well I ordered two of those nuts from the stealers after looking them up in ETKA so I can't see how they would be fixed. Well I guess we'll see when I pick them tomorrow :) Cheers.
