sunroof problem. need help..

Recommended Posts

my sunroof stopped working.. basically the rubber on one of the tilting things had worn away so made one and it works fine.. tilts slides ..

however .. when sliding back its fine.. coming forward its slightly noisy and the pass side comes back higher .. so much so its scratched my new paint.. not happy..

is there any way to adjust this or has anyone had this problem before and can advice me on what to do?

i was so pleased with fixing it .. now i got a scratched roof not pleased..

any help appreciated..

You'll probably find the lack of replies is due to the fact that this has been covered about a hundred million times :D

Have a look through the search....

In my experience the sunroof on the rado is a complete nightmare! I know that isnt much help, lol.

If you do a search there are a few guides on how to repair it

Your best bet it just to fit a glass one from a passat. It's a straight swap providing you get the right one.

ive looked through but none seem to cover my prob

The sunroof is rubbish isn't it. From memory i think it's from H-Reg onwards that will fit, can anyone just confirm this.

I put one in mine and it was a straight fit. If you get one i'll give you a hand fitting it.

I paid £25 for mine. I'm sure you'll find a few in Cardiff scrappies. They're just fiddly to fit but should take no more than 2hrs.

They're notorious for breaking (like everything else  ). Cars hey

I'm good ta and the baby is crawling now so we've got to have eyes in the back of our heads  . We'll have to meet up soon when you not too busy.
