Sam16v 0 Posted July 24, 2007 Alright guys new to corrados but i have a 1990 1.8 16v changed my cambelt,waterpump, and thermostsat yesterday. car started up fine ran perfectly. but powersteeering pump whined drove car out of the garage and no power steering? belt seems fine and pump is definately turning. all the connections to the pump seem fine and no fluid has been lost anywhere? tried tapping pump with a hammer to see if a valve might have stuck? and power steering started working again? ten miles later its broken again? any ideas? cheers Sam Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
davidwort 0 Posted July 24, 2007 could be just the valve in the pump, worth a go removing it (it's under the pressure hose union, unscrew hose then unscrew valve, two pieces and a spring), cleaning the gauze filter inside and filling with fresh PS fluid.
