how much fo twin webber carb conversion or a simalr conversion for a 1990 1.8 16v corrado.

unless the injection system is shagged i wouldnt bother, the full kit for mine cos £850 and needed constant re-tuning at a cost of 40ish pounds a pop.

 

it sounds superb but your fuel consumption will drop through the floor, mine would do 20mpg on a good day and 10-15 if you started to play with it.

 

in the end its up to you but id stick with the injection.

Are you looking to run twin cards???

 

If so lucky on the 1.8 16v engines it kind of easy. Firsat of all you can run the ignition module/coil etc still of your car and just remove the mechanical fuel injection system

 

As for carbs youll need dellerotto or webber 45's which are more than enough available 2nd hand on ebay.co.uk and on performancevwmag.com the hard bit will be the inlet manifold that come up time to time but new i think they are about £400

 

In total your looking at £1000 to have it all running etc

i paid 140 for my inlet manfold but that was for an 8v golf.

 

 

thats how they look.

 

and a set of weber 40's will be fine, they can handle up to a 2 litre or there abouts, the same engine with 45's on it as opposed to 40's will not make any more ower as its the jets inside that supply the fuel.
