russed99 0 Posted August 25, 2007 I have just purchased my first rado :D and as it has the original sebring 15" alloys on i am thinking of changing them for something a bit more modern. The suspension is standard but i am considering maybe a 40mm drop. 1. What is the best size of wheel 16" or 17"? and 2. Will lowering affect ride quality? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Russ.
Goldie 2 Posted August 25, 2007 As you get bigger wheels it will affect the ride quality, 17s look the right size to be but 16s do work also and are a comprimise between bigger wheels and comfort.. Lowering it will defintley affect the ride quality, i depends how much youd like to spend and the level of the drop. I lowered my car not so long ago and yeas it is firmer but its not cracshy and it feels great so i think the pros outweight the conns to be honest.. Sebrings are a looking abit old these days, a nice modern touch would set the car off a treat, enjoy your new motor...
russed99 0 Posted August 25, 2007 I remember i lowered my mk2 golf using just springs and it was like driving round on a skateboard but i assume if i uprate the whole setup it will be better. 17"s seem to be more readily available at the right price but if i lower it aswell will i have enough clearance on my arches? Cheers goldie.

If you match the springs to some suitable dampers or get coilovers then the ride will be better as you have a better set up.. 17s fit straight on, depending on amount lowered, offsets of wheels etc then you could end up rubbing and may have to roll you arches. Im only on 15s so im not really in the know...
