Danger Mouse 0 Posted November 11, 2003 Iv been told that the guys at rolling road days will abandon the run if certain things are not up to scratch... Seems reasonable and fair to me. However iv got some repairs that need done and would like to get the essential things done as my C will be on the rollers on the 30th of this month. Dont want my run abandoned. Here is a list of the repairs that need done... 1)Both rear bump stops replaced 2)Off side CV boot replaced 3)Front engine mount replaced 4)Nearside drive shaft rplaced/repaired (anyone got this part....its expensive) 5)Steering set up Can anyone tell me what will need done now so my run on the rollers is not abandoned. Cheers in advance DM
PhatVR6 0 Posted November 11, 2003 1) won't matter on a RR 2) they'll go mental if they spot it and you get grease everywhere 3)don't even consider RR ing it without fixing this. 4) or this 5) it'll jump off the rollers and possibly kill somone if it's not strapped down right. It's not ready for the rollers. Don't take it anywhere near them until you've fixed it. Hell, I wouldn't even drive it on the road in that state! big_mac 0 Posted November 11, 2003 got to agree with Phat on this one, I see your out in paisley DM, im over in anniesland myself. to give you an example, AVA aborted a RR on a mates Escort RS Turbo because of an oil leak whick the said posed a fire risk, but you might be lucky. where are you taking it btw? Danger Mouse 0 Posted November 11, 2003 Ill get all the repairs done apart from the bump stops just now then. Probably get an oil change and brake fluid change at the same time. Cheers guys DM
G60 0 Posted November 11, 2003 you're gonna pay out the nose for all that at a shop. you can do CV boot and engine mount yourself.. and it will be fun if you like getting dirty.
Danger Mouse 0 Posted November 11, 2003 For the 5 points above plus a brake fluid replacement i was quoted £725 To be honest id rather spend a little extra for someone who knows what they are doing to do the work. I dont wanna f**k it up. Thanks for the response DM
Joe M 0 Posted November 11, 2003 Is that for an upgraded engine mount or standard?
