Extra MFA info.

Just going through some of the paperwork I got with my VR6 last week.

I have a plain printed sheet which talks about extra readings from the MFA. holding the MFA button and turning the ignition on, then off then on again displays the other info. The sheet of paper doesn't explain what the readings are (just seems to be temp readings and 0.0 where the MPG normally is) and the trip just counts the functions. Doesn't seem very 'Extra' to me. :?:

 

Does anyone have any more info on what it's trying to tell me?

i think the later MFA's dont show as much info, not 100% on that but seem to remember something along those lines.

MFA switch, Position 1

1 . Engine Map Code

2 . Country Code

3 . Speedo Drive Ratio

4 . Upper RPM Limiter

5 . Lower RPM Limiter

6 . Deceleration fuel shutoff pressure

7 . Segment Test

MFA switch, Position 2

1 . Test sum of programmed bytes

2 . Intake manifold vacuum/pressure

3 . Engine RPM

4 . Momentary fuel consumption

5 . Signal from Speed sensor

6 . Oil temperature

7 . Ambient temperature

This would appear to be the case with mine. Only shows 3 settings in MFA 1 and 2.

 

I'll have another play and see what the numbers relate to.

Yep - all I get is

 

MFA 1

1. Momentary fuel consumption

2. Oil temperature

3. Ambient temperature

 

MFA 2 (or is that Sweet FA2 )

same as MFA 1

 

 

 

Where is the pick up for the ambient temp. located? I think my is located in the tropics somewhere as it doesn't give the temp around my car! (my car's cooler than that! 8)
