diamondblack 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Seen a 1.8 advertised as having a catalytic converter. I didn't think that the 1.8, even the latter models, ever came fitted with a cat. Is that the case? (And saw this on a review page: 'Some parts prices will scare you, though. Try £790 for a full exhaust system the catalytic converter alone is over £425.') Jim 2 Posted November 8, 2007 1.8 16v's never had a catalytic converter - all the rest did. No one really buys VW exhaust systems these days because of the astronomical cost.. most folks go for a full aftermarket system (£300-£400 tops) and either bypass the cat or just buy a cheapie GSF one, or a known good one from a car being broken for parts.
