door pins

Recommended Posts

ive just had my door card off to sort out a rattle, but when i removed it, the thin metal pulley that the plastic door pin screw on to dropped into the door. I can't for the life of me see how it fits back in. it must clip onto the white plastic clip/runner on the door lock, but there doesn't seem enough on the metal pulley to clip or hook onto it. I had it reted in there, but it came loose immediately when i touched it. I'm wondering if it's broken somehow.

should the pulley have a hook on the end to slot into the small white plastic runner on the door lock?

that probably doesn't make any sense to anyone unless theyve just done exactly the smae thing!!

This is a bit tricky - it's a six inch piece of metal with a couple of wee kinks in it?

There should be a squarish hole near the handle mechanism - you need to try and hook it back into there. Take off the other door card for reference.

here's the little fella. has a small bit broken off the end, as theres only a very small hook there, not enough to clip into anything??

That's the complete unit - it actually clips into a wee hole - in the area I mentioned. Take off doorcard and white plastic covering sheet and you should see a squarish hole near handle mechanism - you need to feed the pin back in (as if in it's normal position) and clip the small bit in at the end. Looking at the other side would help. So take both door cards off - it's no hassle.
