Door Lock fell to pieces last night....HELP!!

Was locking the drivers door last with key (central locking not up and running yet) and heard bits of the mechanism fall down in behind the door card. Unfortunatly, the latch went into 'locked' position when the door was open and I can't push it back up so needless to say the door just hits the catch pin and and won't shut.

Rang my new best friend in local garage, said i need new Corrado door kit which will need to be ordered :(

He mentioned, and in my wisdom I didn't even try this, that if I open the handle on the door the latch should move up allowing the door to close and then just lock the car up from passenger side.

 

Will this work?

Anyone know where best/quickest I can order this door kit???
