rear engine mounts

Recommended Posts

i suspect my rear engine mount may need replacing. i had my front one done a while ago as it was shot. i feel engine vibration quite a bit when i put my foot down, and although most of it went when i replaced my driveshaft, the only thing left to cause it (i think) is the engine mount.

is there any way of telling, other than vibration, if your mount needs replacing? the rear one is simply there to be compressed and absorb any shock isn't it?

The way I checked my rear mount was with engine running, see if you can easily push the rear of the engine down on to the mount using hand force.

If so, yup it'll need doing.

If you do change, go for a Febi mount and stay clear of the GSF patern ones otherwise you'll have even more vibration!
