1.8 16v tuning

hi there!!!

 

planing to spending some money on tunung the engine but i just dont have a clue of wat to do. i did think mabye changing the cams but can you get uprated ones and is it even werth it .

 

please let me no of anything that will up the bhp or torque :)

The cams in your 1.8 are fairly decent to be honest..

 

Depending on your budget you could use a 2.0 bottom end with the existing head and youd be looking at 170+ bhp..

how much cash would i be looking at to get the 2.0 bottom then??

 

if it does bump the bhp up that much then why does the 2.0 not have that bhp much standard :?

The cams that the standard 2.0 runs dont really encourage any decent power whereas the KR ones in yours are good..

 

Decent bottom ends can be had for up to a couple of hundred quid, you need a new headgasket and then its a case of putting it all together...
