center dash removal

Recommended Posts

Hello! I have a 1994 VR6 that has served me well! I went to wire a stereo in at the weekend and the speaker cables fell all the way down the back of the dash. How to I remove the center section of the dash (Where the heater controls and usefull cubby hole is)

Cheers guys

Just attack it. It's fairly obvious once you get going.

Unclip the heater control surround (just pops off) to reveal 4 screws - remove these and the heater controls can come forward. If you need more room, remove the cables and the control unit will come out altogether. Shouldn't need to remove much more than that but if you do it's pretty straightforward.

Can't you just remove the tray under the glove box to retrieve the wires and push them through the radio slot.

You could even thread some string through the radio slot and when you find the speaker wires tie them to the string and pull out through the gap.
