vr6 accelerator pedal stiff...........

Recommended Posts

had my vr6 since saturday and i love it, i let my manager drive it today who had a 2.0 16v years ago and he seemed to think my accelerator cable needed greasing/replacing.....

since i picked it up i just thought that was how the pedals were, i mean theres alot of power in the engine and it didnt phase me, should i replace the cable for peace of mind? if so how much could this set me back at a reasonable local garage?

The corrado VR6 pedal is stiff yes due to the throttle body's dual spring set up. I run a golf VR6 BBT (enlarged throttle) which only has the one spring and is alot softer. Nothing to worry about.

So it is just him not being used to it, and myself for that matter? I am due to put it in for a check-up soon, but he made it sound like an urgent matter and I was kinda worried for a sec, but if thats the way it is then cool!
