Fan speed number one

Mine had the similar problem.

 

I put it down to poor contacts, the If you pull of the cover you will see a contact that moves. I cleaned it up with some glass paper and prized it up a little to give better contact.

 

Works on all speeds.

or the fan speed resistor inside the motor is 'fubar'd'

these are known to go eventually and there are usually spares on fleabay for about a fiver

Good question!! Its a 94 Corrado LHD with rotary controls. I took the dial off and saw the sliding contact and managed to move it so that the fan now works on 2 & 3. If its possible to buy solely the brass slider then i may well go for this but if it costs and i have to start hacking away at the dashboard i may just leave it.....
