Sluggish speedo

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I recently replaced the battery and starter motor on my VR.

It ran like a dog on first fire up, which I think is to be expected as I need to run through the ECU reset procedure. Problem is the speedo has gone all weird on me and seems to be a few seconds behind the rev counter. Is there any point me running through the reset if the ECU doesn't know the correct speed?

I've tried to find a pic of where exactly the speed sensor is on top of the gearbox to be able to check it, but to no avail, so if someone could give me some details I'd be most obliged. But even then, I am getting some movement on the speedo, albeit slowly, so does that rules out the sensor?

It's overfuelling like mad too, but I assumed that was due to it losing all settings.

I MAY have upset some of the wires around the starter when I replaced it, but without being able to find the sensor, I can't see if that was one of them.

Thanks

George
