kuipers23 0 Posted February 28, 2008 I have been trying to figure out for a while why my active spoiler works sometimes and other does not. I thought it was down to a lose connection but I have now discovered what it is. When I have my stereo turned on it does not work. As soon as I turn it off it up and down like a tarts draws! What would be causing this? Is the stereo draing power from somewher? Any suggestions.
Dec 1 Posted February 28, 2008 It's a common enough problem when you have a speed sensitive volume control on the stereo hooked up. Cut the speed/volume control wire on the iso plug at the back of the headunit, and fit a 12v diode on the wire, to stop interference from the headunit messing with the spoiler control
cata 0 Posted March 10, 2008 The Corrado had speed sensitive volume?
boost monkey 0 Posted March 10, 2008 No cata, it's on his particular stereo.
bcstudent 0 Posted March 10, 2008 I think Corrados did have speed sensitive volume. IIRC the problems often occur because the wire to the stereo is blue, the same as the remote output cable on most aftermarket stereos. When the speed input and stereo 12v output are connected together, it screws the speed signal for the spoiler too.
