davej 0 Posted March 17, 2008 when i really put my foot down, especially in 1st (in fact pretty much only in first), i get a lot of vibration at about 3000rpm. it doesn't do it when stationary or not in gear. Ive replaced the gearbox mount and front mount with a genuine VW one, and the rear mount seems fine, apart from a little bit of rust. thats a genuine VW one too. i replaced the drivers side driveshaft when i got the car, which cured the vibration i was getting at 3000rpm on the motorway etc (not under acceleration). would it be worth replacing the passenger side one too? would higher torque on acceleration have a different effect on the driveshaft than the same revs under more gradual acceleration? i'm farily bamboozled as to what else it could be. i thought the new mounts would help, but its exactly the same. anyone?
