2.0 16v tunning

Recommended Posts

Hi there, ii currently own a 2.016v corrado on an m reg which i original bought as a run around after i sold my s3.

I have unfortunatley kind of fallen for the corrado, not because it is quick but just as it has its own unique personality, and is fun.

Im after more power and have considered a 20 vt conversion, but on the other hand i was wondering if any one on here has actually tunned one of these engines and with what results? I have read the tuning guide, but i want to know if spending a load of money on this engine is worth it? fun to drive, etc..

cheers

Ollie

I have done the following to my 2.016v.

2.5" Magnex exhaust.

Power chip

Kr 1.8 cam (mk2 golf)

50mm port matched inlet manifold (mk2 golf)

This has made a nice differnce to the power. When I bought the car it had a standard exhaust on and was really boggy. With these simple mods I now have a car that I am happy with. It revs freely and can hit 60mph a lot faster than before.

I intend to get a decat as well just to add a little more power.

Getting a 20vt would give you loads more power but it is not really tuning. It is just replacing the engine.

The difference between a 20vt and any form of tuned 2.016v is going to be big. Unless you plan to turbo you existing lump then yuou wont ever see massive power...

20vt on the other hand has massive potential and in standard form is a flyer..
