Random spoiler death!!

Driving to work this morning, spoiler automatically raises. Then when i slowed down it didnt go back down. It wont do it automatically or manual, its just stuck up. Never had a problem with it before in the 2yrs of ownership, so its not an intermittent fault, it just decided to die today.

 

Reckon the motor has just gave up?

 

It might be due to the electrical gremlins i seem to have, they like to leave all my indicators on, or some times the fan.

Does it work off the switch ? if not check the fuses first

C'mon there's been about 5 threads started in the last week alone on spoiler problems.

In the search i seem to find spoilers that work as and when they like, or spoilers that only work automatically, or spoilers that only work on the switch. Mine just doesnt work on anything!

 

Bank holiday monday fun i feel with this one! Fingers crossed for a loose wire!

this happened to mine ages ago, it was the fuse. (under the steering colum although not sure what the number was, should be info on here.)

 

if it's the fuse it's a 30 second fix, fuse is like 50p.

If it was the fuse you'd lose rev counter and MFA too on an early valver.

Bloody hell! this happened to mine this morning!

 

Anyway as i said above^^ just replaced fuse No. 16 (15amp) and hey it works!!
