krnau 0 Posted June 3, 2008 I need to say I have used the search tool so here we go with my problem: the MFA does not print anything neither in speed nor in fuel consumption. it is, that it shows "--.-" (and so is mpg ) then, obviously, the spoiler doesn't work automatically. only with the button. -> all fuse are OK! -> I replaced the speed sensor in the speedo watch (in the what? ). it is, not sure if you know, behind the speed watch in the speedo, visible if one takes the hole module out. (yes, I am not English :pale: ) what problem is there? Using search, I found nothing about it... thanks! EDITED: Well, the question is: why does the spoiler switch have 5 pins??? As it has no "interior light", it should only have 3, shouldn't it? one for up, one for down, and one for ground??? I post it because I think my spoiler problem would come from the fu***** switch **** My MFA does show the MPG only in "cheat mode". However it doesn't read speed neither in this mode.....

weetos 0 Posted June 6, 2008 CHECK BLUE WIRE FROM GEAR BOX OOPS CAPS
VR6 0 Posted June 6, 2008 Search for "+spoiler +switch +fuse" and restrict to the Exterior forum and return threads only. Should give you some good results to check through.
Chris 0 Posted June 6, 2008 hi have you checked the spoiler control unit? its the little black box behind the dash, behind the headlight switch roughly. mine was working as it should before i changed my dash. i decided to use the spoiler control unit that came with the new dash, and when i finally got on the road with mine, the spoiler would only go up manually on the switch, it wouldnt raise automatically. (try this maybe) i got up to speed put the spoiler up manually then slowed right down and the spoiler automatically went down as it should. this should show that its just a faulty control box. i put my fully working one in and its fine now. the fact it goes up and down on the switch is a positive thing. seems to be a common problem ive fixed about 5 of these now for friends by replacing this unit. krnau 0 Posted June 10, 2008 well the main problem is MFA does not show the following: speed total kms instantaneous consumption and anything related with km... I changed the speed sensor located in the speedo (seems like some kinda magnet ) :( could the blue-white wire be causing this MFA malfunction? I've checked all fuses in the box.. krnau 0 Posted June 13, 2008 bad news. today I cut off the blue-white wire and apart from cracking the tachometer "plastic-glass cover", the following has happened: my power stage (is it correctly spelled?) has stopped working, because the mass wire which goes to the power stage, is this blue-white wire! very strange... I have to say that I cut the blue-white wire that goes from the radio to the spoiler ECU ... please some help!

krnau 0 Posted June 15, 2008 but the problem is... where do I get them from?
krnau 0 Posted June 18, 2008 well, as a sum, I will say that: 1. Replaced speed sensor(behind speedo) (it seems some kind of magnet) 2. I cut the blue-white wire off and nothing has happened :help: MFA is not working propperly, it only shows -watch, time and oil temp. everything related to kms (or miles..) is showed as " --.- " any help will b welcome :notworthy:
weetos 0 Posted June 18, 2008 The speed sensor is located at the gearbox not on the back of speedo the blue and white wire goes from here to the fuseboard then branches off the spoiler ecu , speedo and radio (the radio one should not be connected!!!) krnau 0 Posted June 19, 2008 thanks for replying :D but I am afraid to say that I own an early - style rado, with analog tacho, so the speed sensor is in the tacho. I will try to change the whole speedo, and let's se if it workds..
