Supercharged 2 Posted June 13, 2008 I think the clip is under the joint itself - you need to belt it with a soft faced mallet
blackcorrado 0 Posted June 13, 2008 so have i got to take the CV joint out of the hub? belt what part with a mallet?
Supercharged 2 Posted June 13, 2008 Yep - fairly sure you can't so this without removing the hub nut and the bottom ball joint. You need to belt the flat side of the joint - I had probelms doing my TDI one and in the end it seemed easier to take the whole driveshaft off and stick it in a vice, came off easily then with a couple of hard blows! blackcorrado 0 Posted June 13, 2008 so theres no clip to undo, i just hit it with a mallet. how did u lock up the driveshaft to get the nut off because i put it 5th gear but it still spins
Supercharged 2 Posted June 13, 2008 I used an air impact wrench :D Get someone to stand on the brakes...
