The same switch brings in the idle stab. If you have an air/fuel ratio meter fitted you can see when it is cutoff and when it comes back in. I don't think this would be the cause of bad consumption. Someone please give me a clue, nicely please :0) 4.54 litres to the gallon. Divide the amount you put in, by 4.54 to give gallons and Bob's your uncle. 45 litres is near enough 10 gallons.
