Why do gutless braindead penis`s do things like this? It was common knowledge among car thieves (and owners!) of mk1 and mk2 golfs years ago that the simple screwdriver pry in through the handle gave access to the door catch lever, its not quite as simple as that on the later cars as the handles are more substantial

Someone tried to pry my mk2 Rallye like that, they pierced the door skin but luckily it was only minor just beneath the edge of the handle and covered over with armour plates

even de locked handles wont prevent a moron trying it though it seems, even if its alarmed!, any body shop should be able to re shape the metal and fill/spray back to new

I will never understand why people try to break into cars through the door skin or any other means, surely if they have seen something in your car they just simply cant live without  then why not be brave enough to break the window and at least give you the chance to hear it, chase them down the road, catch them and smash there face in!!

Had the same thing happen to my old one a couple of years ago, really really annoying, so I know how you feel. Sorry I can't add any more than has already been said :(

Hi Jon,

That's a real bummer and as Dave said your car was looking really nice last weekend. I think a good body shop might be able to repair that and blend in round the top up to the crease line and down the back of the handle. Just a matter of finding someone good enough to do it.
