Pastymuncher 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Afternoon. I'm after the part nos. and current dealer prices for the following bits and pieces. If anyone with access to EKTA can help, I would be very grateful (I'm fed up with trying to explain what I need to the VAG parts monkey on a saturday morning - by the time the penny drops, the parts dept has shut!). The bits I need the info. on are as follows: (a) Off-side front indicator lens/unit (not the side repeater). (b) The piece of black plastic trim that covers the mounting bolt on the rear wiper arm, with the little gap in it for the squirter to squirt through. © The piece of black plastic trim that holds the rear of the near side rear panel card in place. Its up next to where the rear seat locking pin slots into place, up near the rear speaker housing. It has a screw going through it which clamps the card in place. (d) "Corrado" and "VR6" rear badges - chrome. Many thanks in advance for any assistance. David
h100vw 0 Posted December 4, 2003 535 853 687B and 3A0 853 675 for your badges
h100vw 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Need the year of your motor, preferably the chassis number. Gavin
Jim 2 Posted December 4, 2003 Well as its a Classic Green Storm, its gonna be a '95 VR6?
Pastymuncher 0 Posted December 4, 2003 That's right Jim - the clue's in the question :) Thanks for the badge info Gavin - do you still need a chassis number for the other bits as its a Storm (Dec '95)? Any prices would also be useful as I'd prefer new, but if the bits are silly money I'll go on the hunt. Cheers, David
h100vw 0 Posted December 4, 2003 The prices on ETKA are pretty wild. I'd bell VW. Sorry not into Cs enough to notice its would be a 95. I'll get the other numbers in a bit cos I got to feed the nipper. Gavin
Pastymuncher 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Cheers Gavin and no worries - I know what a hungry nipper sounds like. I understand that VW's prices for C parts are coming down at the moment, but knowing my luck I'd get the dealership with an out of date price list, hence any guidance would be useful (forewarned is forearmed), but the part nos. alone is more than helpful. Ka` 0 Posted December 4, 2003 David, Here goes... I've actually captured the pages I think you need, someone else can fathom which number you need to quote to the monkeys :) Hope these are the things you need. Rica
Pastymuncher 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Thank you very much Rica - those are exactly the bits I'm after. I thought it would be easy to work out the part numbers, but the first two diagrams list two options for each of the parts I need. For instance, in the first one, the indicator is item no. 5. But for the right hand side lens, there are two options. The part nos. are the same but one has a B suffix. Whassat mean ? Same goes for the wiper arm bit in the second pic - again its item 5 on the diagram, but there are two part numbers given, this time totally different. Eh? Something to do with the >> numbers given in the middle column, but no idea what they refer to. BTW Rica, the item I'm after on the last pic is item 10, but the list on the right doesn't give details for this bit - I think you need to scroll down. A bit cheeky I know, but if you could let me have that bit, I'd be sorted for me trip to the zoo. Once again, many thanks.
Ka` 0 Posted December 4, 2003 David, I noticed no 10 missing as soon as I posted... I've edited the post and have added a pic reartrimcont.jpg. Is it not available to you? I can see it in my post. If you can't see it, I'll try posting again... And yes, the reason why I just captured the pictures, is that I don't always understand what the hell the numbers and sub-letters refer to... Hopefully someone else can help (?) Rica
Pastymuncher 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Rica, No, I can see it now (I think I must have been typing my post while you were editing) - excellent, thank you for your help. Aargh - that part also has multiple part no. options! Anyone able to explain what the various components of the EKTA listings are/mean? Cheers, David
h100vw 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Bits of trim often have different colours. Sometimes there is two or more variants of the same thing. Front shocks for example would be different on 16V, G60 and VR due to weights differences. You need to use the engine codes to split them, KR, PG etc. Also there is often more than one sheet of part numbers, so ones you cannot see can be found by highlighting the part or hitting enter. Rica, how do you do the capture? Very handy. Gavin
Ka` 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Gavin, I have Paint Shop Pro. But you can do the same thing (in Win environments) by pressing 'print screen' button. Then open somekind of a image handling program (Paint, Microsoft Photo Editor, third party...) and choose usually 'Edit, Paste (as new image)'. It varies. But you get the picture. 8) Rica
h100vw 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Will try that one day. Cheers Rica Gavin
