Bring it back, that ol basstube whack..

Recommended Posts

Posted this up in my members thread but thought people who use the ice forum section may find this interesting.

Ever wanted some bass in your rado but didn't wanna a) loose all your boot and or b) don't wanna shell out massive money on audioscape boxes etc...

Well managed to create this little bad boy for around 20 - 30 squids:

What you'll need includes:

1) old nackered bass tube (ebay or audio forums or mag classifieds) - free

2) new / used sub (again ebay or audio forums or mag classifieds) - mine cost a tenner of the bay

3) some mdf - had to by sheet from homebase - £10

4) some carpet - had some from old install

5) some glue - £5 from maplins

6) terminal block - £5 from ebay

Create some new front pieces out of sheet mdf:

Do same for both ends and carpet:

End hole for terminal block in one end and sub in the other:

Then get it in your boot. Could be run off a bridge rear speaker channels with a filter from headunit but ideally off a small amp.

Jobs a good 'un. More pics in my members thread.

Hello mate.

How have you mounted it in the boot to stop it moving around?

Hey, haven't mounted it in yet but have some webbing straps and some mounting eyes to be screwed to the back seats to loop the webbing through.

Straps round the tube and tighten them up. Still yet to do this but seems simple enough. Will get some more pics up when i've sorted it.
