Gear shifter

Two questions:-

1. How do i remove the gearshifter from the car ? :shrug:

 

2. Steering column removal? Seems to be held inside the car by two studs.How do you get them off ?? :shrug:

1. drop the exhaust and unbolt from underneath. Disconnect cables from gearbox.

 

2. 2 'studs' and 2 bolts. Undo those and then undo the bottom of the steering column from the U/J (universal Joint). 10mm bolt by the pedals ftw.

Need to drill out the sheer-bolts really...

Yeah I have no idea how the stud bits come out, I'm guessing drillage as per Stevo.

Yeah, bolt grippr don't touch them, I tried other suggested methods like hacksaw and chissels but drilling is easiest (with a decent metal drill bit)

give the shear bolts a sharp tap with a chisel and hammer so that the hammer blow bashes it anticlockwise...they come undone easy enough after a few taps

 

replace with normal bolts
