Strange Electric Window

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My passenger electric window has really stumped me.

1 day I tried to put my passenger side window down and nothing happened. My drivers side works fine (a little slow, but works). Both my wing mirrors also work fine.

I've put my head to the door pannel and listened for any noises, but its totally silent.

Would this be the motor thats gone and if so is it difficult to fix? I have had a look att the window switch and all the wires are fine, as I soldered them earlier in the month as I had loose connections.

I have an early Corrado.

Really need some help as the weather is so hot and Im melting just driving around with 1 window open!

Cheers.

Oh don't be such a girl, both my windows are broken. :camp:

Pull the doorcard off and have a look mate. You wouldn't diagnose an engine fault with the bonnet shut would you?

Seriously though, let me know if you need any bits. I have a couple of spare early doors which still have all the E/W mech and looms (minus glass though) :salute:

Yea, I definately think its the switch. Took it out and saw a few sparks. Guessing the switch is fried.

Don't worry, the 1st thing I did was take the door panel off to see if there was any loose wiring.

How easy is it to pick up another swicth and how muchj do they generally cost. As I want to get this sorted out ASAP.

Look in the 'For Sale' section at people breaking cars. I've bought electric window switches off here for a few quid posted!
