Quick question, is this the correct oil filter for VR

its not like any i've seen before, but never done oil filter myself on the corrado and not seen it :lol:

 

i guess its in some type of housing that you have to reuse?

Yep thats right. Its in a black plastic housing (with a drain plug) on the front of the engine.

 

Later golf VR6 engines had a similar filter but with different shaped plastic ends. IIRC all 2.9 Corrado engiens use those filters pictured.

 

 

The idea is these cartridge filters are more enviromentally friendly than throw away metal ones.

well an oil change was rather easy :lol:

 

i've not done one since chewing the thread out the sump on my old car :cuckoo:
