Door Panel/Card Removal

Recommended Posts

I need to take the door panel off my G60, how the heck do you do this please?

I want to get the door handles off so I can fit the newly tumbled locks I have made so all the doors and boot open with the ignition key, but it seems that you have to get to the insides of the door in order to get the handles off so I stuck?!

Help please...

If the doors're the same as the VR6 (which I'm sure they are) there are 2 small screws on the door edge (below door catch) and 1 on the front edge (above hinge). Door pin needs to be unscrewed, take the cover off door handle (door pull) and there are 2 screws inside it. Remove cover from door catch (interior opening thing). There is also a screw behind door handle that you'll see when it's removed. Now the sneaky one, remove the speaker grill, and you'll find a screw in there that needs to be removed too.

Not necesary the right order, but that's where they all are, well on mine it is.

If you're changing the drivers handle it has a LEFT HAND thread on the screw the holds it on.

Good luck

you DONT need to remove the inner door panel to get the door handles off!! well not unless you do what i did and operate the windows on the key when you have the handle in bits and the spring etc fall down the handle hole!

The handle has got retaining screw inside the door shut, (big fat x head screw) undo, then just wiggle the handle and remove it, be carefull with the electric cable on it though!

you can then just remove the old lock barrels from the handles by undoing the retaining screw on its base and swap them over and refit
